The Basics

What is an FFL transfer?

Federal law requires that firearms sold across state lines — or bought online — be delivered to a licensed dealer (an FFL) in the buyer's state, not shipped directly to your home. You then complete the background check and paperwork in person before taking possession.

That dealer step is called a transfer. We act as your receiving dealer: we accept the shipment, verify it, run your background check, and hand it over once you're cleared — all handled here at the shop.

Incoming transfers

You bought a firearm from an online retailer, auction site, or out-of-state dealer — have them ship it to us and we'll handle the handoff.

Private-party sales

Buying or selling with another individual? We can process the transfer and background check to keep everyone legal and covered.

NFA items

Suppressors and other NFA items transfer through our SOT. There's extra federal paperwork and a wait — we'll walk you through it.

Step by Step

How your transfer works.

Give the seller our info

At checkout, have your seller ship to our FFL. Start a transfer with us first and we'll send our license on file to them directly.

We receive & log it

When your package arrives, we inspect it, enter it into our bound book, and notify you the same day it lands.

Come in for your 4473

Stop by with a valid government photo ID. You'll fill out Form 4473 and we submit your background check on the spot.

Cleared? It's yours

Most checks clear in minutes. Once approved, pay the transfer fee and walk out with your firearm.

A small percentage of checks are delayed or denied per federal and state rules. We follow all applicable waiting periods and eligibility requirements — no exceptions.

Before You Come In

What to bring.

A valid, unexpired government photo ID with your current address
Your order or tracking number, so we can match the shipment
Any state-required permit or documentation, if applicable where you live
Payment for the transfer fee (card or cash)
A little time — the 4473 and check are quick, but do it unhurried

You must be eligible to purchase and meet the minimum age for the item you're picking up. Rules vary by state — reach out if you're unsure and we'll confirm before anything ships.

Once your item arrives we notify you the same day. The in-store paperwork and background check usually take 15–30 minutes, and most checks clear within minutes.

We follow all federal and state rules. A delay means we hold the item until it clears within the allowed window; a denial means we cannot transfer it. We'll explain your options either way.
